Amnesty International UK, Derby and District

Amnesty International UK, Derby and District group profile

Amnesty International is the world’s largest grassroots human rights organisation. They work to protect men, women and children wherever justice, freedom, truth and dignity are denied.

The Amnesty International Derby and District group is a friendly local branch of Amnesty campaigners and supporters. We love to welcome new faces, whether you’re a seasoned campaigner or simply curious about what we do.

What we do: We fundraise for Amnesty International; we carry out actions, including supporting our adopted prisoner of conscience; we have letter writing events; and we organise talks about human rights issue (come to our meeting in September for a talk about the current crisis in Syria).

When we meet: The second Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm at the Friends Meetings House, St. Helen’s Street, Derby (next door to BBC Radio Derby). Joining the group is free and refreshments are provided!
