Derby St Pauli is a group of formerly disenchanted football fans who have rekindled their love of the game by throwing their weight behind Hamburg’s radical football club FC St Pauli.
St. Pauli enjoys a certain fame for the left-leaning character of its supporters: most of the team’s fans regard themselves as anti-racist, anti-fascist, anti-homophobic and anti-sexist. St Pauli as a club is the polar opposite of modern football, with huge fan input into the club and its activities.
St Pauli is famed for the enthusiasm and passion of its supporters which is illustrated quite well in this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMxba4O3gj8
Derby St Pauli get together at The Hairy Dog on Beckett Street to watch delayed screenings of all matches (unless they’re live on BT Sports, which does happen once in a while!) and organise an annual (at least!) trip to the Millerntor to watch the Boys in Brown play. We also host and visit other FCSP supporters’ clubs across the UK. We welcome everyone and are always open to new ideas about activities and campaigns we can join.
So, if you love football but hate Racism, Sexism, Homophobia and Fascism then come along and remind yourself what football should be about.
