This investigative documentary looks back at three industrial disputes of the past 30 years; the eventual privatisation of the postal service, the strike by the Grangemouth oil refinery workers and Rupert Murdoch’s hold over large swathes of the British newspaper business. This film goes behind the scenes with the trade union officials, secret meetings to circumnavigate monopoly laws around Murdoch’s purchase of The Times and The Sunday Times in the early 1980s and government policies around increasing the power to big business.
This screening will be hosted by the Bread & Roses group and we are delighted to be joined by director Morag Livingstone for a post film Q+A & discussion.
