The festive season is approaching and with it comes a chance to slow down and reflect on our daily lives. In this context, we have organised an evening focusing on the relationship between the human individual and nature as part of the Environmental Sustainability Research Centre’s Climate Change event series at the University of Derby. We will tackle this topic both from a scientific and an art perspective.
Professor David Sheffield, the Associate Head of the Centre for Psychological Research, Lor Bird, a visual artist from Derby and Dr Jamie Bird, Head of the Centre for Health and Social Care Research, will lead us through the evening. David will give an overview of how people connect to nature most effectively and why that is important in a century of unprecedented climatic change. Lor and Jamie will discuss how to express your personal relationship with nature and will support you to use works of art in the process.
You can find more information on this event at https://tinyurl.com/DerbyClimateArt. Because of the strongly participatory nature of the evening, registration is necessary!
