Express U is a new youth radio activity for young people in Derby. We are using radio to enhance the wellbeing of young people. Join us and express your feelings during the pandemic and also showcase your passion for music, showcase your talents in poetry and the arts.

Learn new skills such as interviewing and have a space to communicate your hopes and fears for the future. We are inviting guest speakers and give you tasks to complete to create your own shows.
Learn how to make radio and showcase your shows on the Derby Sound Community Radio Station.

We are using social distanced online sessions to learn new skills and to express your feelings and experience, whilst meeting other young people. Come along on our visits in bubbles to the radio station to get a feel for live radio (If save to do so and lockdown restrictions are lifted). This is arranged in partnership with Derby Sound Community Radio, who are supporting the project.

Under 16s must be supervised by a responsible adult during the sessions.
This project is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.

The session dates and times are as follows and divided by age group. Please register via Eventbrite and complete the consent forms to secure your child’s place.

For now, instead of a map, you can see the full address of an event by clicking on the Location. Google Maps will no longer allow us to show a map without being connected to them in mindboggling ways so we're considering other options....
