Derby Theatre Studio
Part-explosive comedy cabaret, part-interactive political rave, this award-winning, sequin-covered, champagne-fuelled extravaganza is guaranteed to blow your minds, your pants and your preconceptions!
You are invited to join the all-singing, all-dancing cliterati: a not-so-secret society rising up to dismantle the patriarchy, armed with an empowering disco soundtrack.
All bodies are welcome at this “cult feminist cosmic disco not to miss” (Fest Mag) and there is only one rule: you can have a dick, just don’t be a dick.
Fierce and funny, this unapologetically intersectional show is bursting with original live music, anarchic audience games, DIY glamour, sharp-witted observations and of course, ridiculously epic dance moves.
But it is also an uncompromising call-to-arms: brandishing the weapons of high-octane entertainment, the songs and stories within Glittery Clittery work to unpick and undermine the fear that indoctrinates bigotry and sexism, pinpoints the lack of education that continues to shroud the female body, and celebrates sexuality in all of its beautiful, chaotic forms.
Originally created by Tessa Waters, Rowena Hutson and Victoria Falconer, the Fringe Wives Club is now a global force of award-winning performer activists, working to bring us all onto the dance floor and towards a better future.
Join the Wives as they clitterbomb the patriarchy with the full force of their combined, unquestionable talent.
