Derby’s FREE festival joins the global celebrations with inspiring speakers at QUAD and performances, taster activities, Human Library and exhibitions under a huge marquee on the Market Place.
FREE entry – donations appreciated. All genders, all communities together with lots for children to enjoy including soft play area.
Celebrate with uplifting sing-alongs, dance-alongs and a drumming circle, 40+ stalls, good causes & activities, arts & crafts, sports, Suffragette HERstory & family fun. You can make a robot, make an empowerment doll, make something for Mothers’ Day or find a new hobby.
Inspirational speakers at QUAD include Jasvinder Sanghera and Frances Ryan.
After the day of festivities there will be a Suffragette Memorial March, marking 100 years since the first women won the right to vote in the UK, meet at 4pm, Market Place to join the march of about 20-30mins around the city centre – bring a banner, sing along, wear purple or even dress as a Suffragette. You can make a Suffragette sash during the day at the Vox Feminarum stall. Supportive brothers and non-binary siblings welcome.
This popular annual festival is organised entirely by volunteers.
