Drop-in to join us making placards honouring diverse inspiring women who changed the world for us – #WeRiseOnTheShouldersOfGiants + pom-poms in Suffragette colours ready to decorate our International Women’s Day Festival (9th March) and to take on the women’s rights march on the big day. Free, family-friendly, kids welcome with adult supervision. Made possible by IWD Derby volunteer power with thanks to funding from Rosa UK Woman To Woman fund, and working with Spiral Arts.

Venue: Derby Women’s Centre, 4 Leopold Street. Pay and display parking available on the street outside and nearby. Close to city centre bus station and car parks. Wheelchair ramp access and accessible toilet facilities available.

Did you know? The Suffragettes carried names of inspiring women past and present on placards on big processions. We’ll be continuing this tradition at International Women’s Day, which has been celebrated in and around Derby for over 100 years.

Due to a glitch, a map will only show for locations already in our system... good news is lots of venues in Derby are in our system, so when submitting an event, start typing the location and hopefully it will auto-predict...
