The Derby Conference Centre
There is a plan afoot to widen the A38 near Derby, which will cause huge disruption in the city (as bridges are closed for rebuilding) for a prolonged period, as well as encouraging additional road travel. Derby City Council have recently declared a Climate Emergency and the A38 road widening would be directly contrary to the spirit of this declaration.
Highways England Planning Inspectorate are having an “open floor hearing” tomorrow, Tuesday 10th December, from 5.30pm at Derby Conference Centre. At this hearing, members of the public will be able to put questions and make objections.
It would be wonderful if as many people as possible could turn up.
Please watch this space as a coalition of local groups are going to be having a big campaign on this issue 🙂
