Palava Tree is a series of topical meetings for people of African and African-Caribbean heritage.
This session is lead by Beverli Taylor from Balm Therapies and will cover the topic of The Impact of COVID-19 on Anxiety and Depression Part 2
The second England lockdown is looming and can have a huge effect on levels of anxiety and depression. The current situation is often described as a ‘crisis’. The general sense of anxiety which many face might heighten. Whether anxiety and depression have increased during lockdown or has occurred because of lockdown we discuss the implications.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Palava Tree discusses issues around mental health, physical health, community discussions, lifestyle and COVID 19 effects on the community. It is a safe space to speak out, discuss and share experiences and combat isolation. Activities are designed to gain more information and approach the pandemic through critical reflection and through peer support and discussions. In addition, participants are able to acquire tools and practices to live healthier and more balanced.
The project is created for participants in the Midlands. We are creating a safe space for people of African and Caribbean heritage to discuss these topics. Spaces are limited and to confirm your space, we will send you a short survey via email to respond to and instructions to sign up to our online platform.
This project is made possible through funding from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund, distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund. Thanks to the Government for making this possible.
