All welcome to this planning meeting for activity in the run up to the general election:

The big question is now– with the Election and Corbyn’s opening speech on 31st October – “How do we engage with the people – and what is our target?”

Maybe we should aim at:

– The use of the People’s Inquiry report (local work done about the NHS) to stimulate discussion – and anger
– The production of similar from Universal Credit survey data
– Lively street meetings every Saturday between 9th Nov and the election – only 5 weeks – with anti racism on the agenda at each one
– and other issues involving other campaign groups –

jobs & pay (DATUC)
Education (teaching unions)
Wealth gap and Benefits/UC (UC campaign)
Housing and homelessness (housing campaigners from Sheffield/ACORN/ People’s Assembly in the absence of a local housing campaign)
House to house door knockering on the issues, publicising the Saturday stalls/street meetings
Organised and co-ordinated social media
An unequivocal call for “Vote Labour For the NHS” etc and coordination with Labour election work.
