We have the worst refugee crisis since World War II, with people fleeing atrocity from Africa, the Middle East and other troubled regions. This film focuses on the volunteers, the grassroots activists as they do what they can to aid refugees. Firefighters, footballers and nurses out saving people as part of their everyday lives.
“…crafted with a fierce commitment to truth-telling, entirely righteous fury at the appalling abuse of refugees and an ambition to help somehow.” – The Guardian
This screening will feature a panel Q&A led by the Bread & Roses group that includes director Sharon Walia and Brendan Woodhouse, a firefighter from Derby and one of the subjects of the film.
