Date(s) - Tuesday 17/01/2017
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Bosnia & Herzegovina Centre
The first part of the meeting will be given over to a number of speakers:
Ferid Kevric who came to Derby in the 1990s and set up the B&H Centre.
Reem Salih, a refugee and volunteer with the British Red Cross in Derby, who will speak of her experiences of leaving Iraq and of living in different countries before coming to Derby.
Moyra Jean from Derbyshire Refugee Solidarity will speak of her recent trip to Calais and of the current situation there.
We will then split into discussion groups to develop a programme of events for the year which: 1) draws on people’s interests and experiences; 2) complements the positive work with and for refugees that is happening in the Derby area; 3) takes forward the plans which emerged from the panel discussion in the Council House in October.
